The new Arteon Coming soon
Volkswagen is expanding its model range with the debut of an avant-garde gran turismo: the new Arteon. Positioned above the Passat, the premium class Arteon is being revealed to a global audience for the first time at the Geneva International Motor Show (9 to 19 March). Klaus Bischoff, Volkswagen Head of Design: "The Arteon combines the design elements of a classic sports car with the elegance and space of a fastback. An avant-garde business-class gran turismo, it speaks to the heart and the head alike."
'Autonomous driving' – a term currently generating more animated discussion than almost any other in the automotive world. It fascinates and polarises in equal measure. The fact is: automated driving functions increase comfort and often safety as well. The new Arteon is therefore fitted with more driver assistance systems than any Volkswagen before. These systems are interconnected with each other, as it is the interaction of their sensors and computers that actually makes autonomous driving functions possible. Through the fusion of four driver assistance systems, the Arteon possesses a form of technology that in many circumstances can help to prevent serious accidents: Emergency Assist 2.0. As soon as the sensors of the avant-garde gran turismo notice that the driver has become incapacitated, the Arteon takes over the proverbial helm. Within the bounds of its system capabilities, it warns other road users and automatically steers to the nearside lane, where it stops.
The new Tiguan Allspace Coming soon
The Volkswagen brand is adding to the Tiguan range next year with the launch of the long version. In addition to its longer wheelbase, the new SUV is also identifiable by other features. The indivudally designed silhouette of the rear section, modifications to the front and a much enhanced standard specification differentiate it from the more compact Tiguan version. The newly concieved top version with up to seven seats will be successively launched in North America, China and Europe from as early as late spring.
The new Golf Now open for order
The updated Volkswagen Golf opens for order in the UK from tomorrow (2 February) with the option of all-new engines, more technology, improved connectivity and revised styling than the outgoing car.
The entry-level updated Golf S 1.0 TSI 85 PS three-door1 the new Golf is driving even more value, style and desirability into what is aptly named by many the ‘Golf class’.
Wolfsburg, November 2016. Volkswagen is digitalising the most successful model in the Group’s history – the Golf – with a major update. The main focus of the 2017 model year is – alongside new engines, keener design and new assistance systems – a completely new generation of infotainment systems. As a world first in the compact class, the top-of-the-range “Discover Pro” system can be operated by gesture control. With its 9.2-inch screen it forms a conceptual and visual entity with the Active Info Display, which is also new to the Golf. In parallel to this, the range of online services and apps has also been enlarged. The update to the Golf, of which over 33 million have been sold to date, also reflects a new standard for assistance systems in the compact class: technologies such as City Emergency Braking with new Pedestrian Monitoring function, the new Traffic Jam Assist (partially automated driving at speeds of up to 60 km/h) and Emergency Assist, which is also new in this segment, significantly improve safety.
The new Golf opens for order in the UK in 2017.
